A South African company Peralex, global leader in digital signal processing (DSP) and high-performance electronics, has officially opened its new European office at the Hague Security Delta (HSD) Campus in The Hague.

Peralex’s venture into the European market aims to bring its leading-edge technology closer to European clients, particularly in the civil, commercial and security sectors. The company is renowned for its high-sensitivity receiver hardware and advanced signal processing algorithms.

The new office in The Hague represents the company’s commitment to expanding its technological footprint and operational capabilities across Europe. Zuid-Holland’s structured business ecosystem not only facilitates access to local funding and SME benefits, but also connects Peralex with leading academic institutions and potential industry partners.

Building a diverse and skilled workforce

With plans to create a balanced team of local and international talent, Peralex is not only contributing to the local economy but is also fostering innovation in the high-tech industry.

“Peralex has a history of working closely with postgraduate groups in South African universities to source highly-skilled labour. We aim to continue this trend in the Netherlands and recruit primarily Dutch graduates from Dutch universities. Within 3 years we envisage that Peralex B.V. will be at least a 50/50% mix of Dutch and international staff,” Karlsen added.

Over the next three to five years, Peralex plans to solidify its status as a leader in DSP hardware and software solutions in Europe. In addition, they will use their Dutch base to explore innovation and collaboration opportunities in adjacent sectors such as space technology (both upstream and downstream) and agri-tech.

Navigating new horizons: guidance received

In their journey to establish operations in North West Europe, Peralex received crucial guidance from the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency in South Africa on business incorporation and obtaining Highly Skilled Migrant sponsorship. Following this, InnovationQuarter was instrumental in helping secure office space, understand the local business environment and expand their network of potential partners.
